My first experience with a hackathon was in November 2024 and involved being immersed in an atmosphere of quick problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation.
In this hackathon, I created the backend infrastructure that would enable the management of the machine learning pipeline of an inventory management application. This experience entailed bringing together the aspects of backend engineering and machine learning pipelines to ensure that the application works.
The reason why this experience stood out is the fact that we were able to integrate the whole application as a single product. The judges liked the way that the technical setup had been done, which was encouraging as my first engineering milestone.
It was not just my first hackathon; it was my first experience of translating engineering concepts into a practical product.
